The High Priestess, 2025

Materials: Mixed media with papier-mâché, capiz seashells, scallop shells, oil-paint, braided hair, mosaic and beading

Size: 84 × 56 × 7 in

Short Description:
The High Priestess stands at the threshold between inner and outer worlds, holding a knowledge that is felt as much as it is understood. The figure closes her eyes not to disappear, but to see clearly. She is guided by the subconscious, by dreams, by ancestors, and by materials that carry their own symbolic memory: scallop shells associated with Venus, capiz  shells (once used as windows) as portals between inner and outer worlds. Water returns the figure to something older than interruption, older than violence, older than history itself.
