Studio Talk: Art, Practice, and the Rituals That Sustain Us

January 16 | In the Studio

On Thursday, January 16, I’m opening my studio for an intimate evening of conversation with a special guest from the art world.

These Studio Talks are designed as slow, in-person conversations — a chance to step away from panels, performances, and polished soundbites, and instead talk honestly about how artistic lives are actually built.

Each talk centers on three core questions:

  • How does a creative practice evolve over time?

  • What decisions shape a sustainable life in the arts — beyond talent alone?

  • And what personal rituals, habits, or grounding practices help artists and cultural workers stay connected to their work?

While each guest brings a different perspective — curator, cultural leader, artist — the intention remains the same: to offer real insight into the ecosystems that shape contemporary art, and the human lives moving within them.

This is not a lecture.
It’s not a panel.
It’s a conversation.

We’ll talk about career paths that aren’t linear, about visibility and access, about intuition and discipline, about choosing leadership versus authorship, and about the often-invisible practices that sustain long-term creative work.

Studio Talks are open to:

  • artists at any stage of their practice

  • curators, cultural workers, and organizers

  • students and emerging creatives

  • anyone curious about how art actually moves through the world

The evening will include time for audience questions and informal discussion.

More details about the guest and conversation focus will be shared soon.
